"It Hurts" captures the stark contrast between external appearances and internal realities. The vivid yellow background, bright and seemingly cheerful, represents how I am often perceived by others—as someone who is okay. However, at the center of this deceptive brightness is a heart, deep red and inscribed with the words "IT HURTS." This heart reveals the hidden pain that lies beneath the surface, a pain that is often overlooked. Through this painting, I express the isolation and suffering that can hide behind a facade of normalcy, highlighting the complexity of my emotional landscape as I navigate through depression.
