Return to the body (acrylic, 40x30cm / 16x12”)

"Return to the Body" is a visual meditation on my personal journey to overcome dissociation caused by trauma. Through this painting, I express the profound work required to reconnect with my physical sensations and emotions, which trauma had long forced me to suppress. The abstract depiction of the human form in rich, earthy tones against a vibrant green symbolizes the reawakening and reclaiming of my body. Each stroke and color transition represents a step in the challenging process of feeling and acknowledging every sensation as I heal. This piece embodies the struggle and triumph of becoming fully present in my own body.
